Riverside Community College District Small Business Technical Assistance Expansion Program (SB TAEP)

The California Small Business Technical Assistance Expansion Program (SB TAEP) provides one-on-one, confidential consulting and training to help small businesses and entrepreneurs start, expand, facilitate investment and create jobs in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The SB TAEP program provides services to underserved business groups, including women, minority and veteran-owned businesses and businesses in low-wealth, rural and disaster-impacted communities. Our 1:1 Counseling Services will assist you with your business development needs and help you become ‘procurement ready’.

About

Riverside Community College District’s Office of Economic Development was awarded $327,601.45. The Office of Economic Development will use the money to expand the Procurement Technical Assistance Center services to businesses located in Riverside and San Bernardino counties through new business development consultations and training, said Christopher R. Earl, executive director, Economic Development & Entrepreneurship.

“The goal of the program’s expansion is to reach underserved groups and previously underserved areas in the Inland Empire and develop businesses to become procurement-ready,” Earl said. “Procurement-ready framework consists of a series of business development assistance, such as business structure, bonding, accounting and business operations, and business to business, among others. The combination of both types of business assistance (procurement and business development) will greatly impact the local economy.”

SB TAEP, launched in 2018 and continuing through 2023, allocates funding to eligible centers through a competitive process. This year’s funding is spread across the state and includes small business development, women’s business, procurement technical assistance centers, rural development centers, minority business development agency export and business centers, and other similar programs within California that support small businesses. Grantees are to focus on bridging the opportunity gap for under served small businesses and communities by offering consulting and training founders needed to launch and increase revenues while creating jobs.
